Richard Irwin is a Grammy and Juno Award winning drummer . A highly respected studio musician and a much sought after stage performer , Richard has no end to his long list of collaborations . Performance credits include: Julie Lamontagne, Vic Vogel, Orchestre National de Jazz, Dawn Tyler Watson, Effendi Jazz Lab, Al McLean, Jessica Vigneault, Remi Bolduc, the Chateauguay Tenors, Nicole Martin, Jeff Johnston, Florence K, Hadrian’s Wall, Bill Mahar, Matt Herskowitz, Jean Pierre Zanella, Jean-Nicolas Trottier, Bruno Pelletier, and has toured the world with jazz/pop singer, Nikki Yanofsky. He has performed in venues such as the Blue Note, Dizzy’s Club, Catalina’s, Ronnie Scott’s, the Lincoln Center, L’Olympia, Bell Centre, Air Canada Centre, Saddledome, B-Flat Berlin, Duc des Lombards, Jazz Station Brussels, as well as at major festivals such as the NAMM show, Montreal Drum Fest, Montreal Jazz Fest, North Sea Jazz Fest, San Francisco Jazz, Red Sea Jazz Fest, and many others. He has worked with international artists such as Dave Liebman, Dave Young, Celine Dion, Enrico Pieranunzi, Freddie Hubbard, Yotam Silberstein, Donny McCaslin, Randy Bachman, Denzal Sinclaire, Ingrid Jensen, Gary Smulyan, Jane Bunnet, Yannick Rieux, Paulo Ramos, Kevin Dean, Chucho Valdez, and has shared the stage with dozens of others. He has played on over 50 albums, including Jennifer Gasoi’s 2014 Grammy winning Throw a Penny in the wishing Well, and Christine Jensen’s 2014 Juno winning Habitat.
